Astrological Techniques and What’s Behind Them

Six Wednesdays: July 9, 16, 23, 30 and August 6 and 13.

In this course we will interpret natal charts of well-known individuals, as a means to assess different styles of “putting it all together.”

Astrological techniques developed over a long time within different eras and cultures, and in this course we will glimpse many of them and compare them to one another.

What kinds of information do they provide?
How do they reflect the interplay between “objective” information and the intuitive leaps that make for valid astrological interpretation?
Can we transfer the techniques from one era to another?
Above all, which styles “speak” to you most clearly and allow you most confidently to make an interpretation

The first two groups will deal with issues of love and work; the third and fourth will be about psychology in astrology, and the final two groups will concern karma and personal transformation.

As with the Astrology Institute’s certification programs, our emphasis is on helping people find what astrological styles work best for you.

Joseph Crane has been a practicing astrologer and astrology teacher since 1989. Co-founder and co-director of the Astrology Institute. In addition to being a modern astrologer, Joseph is author of A Practical Guide to Traditional Astrology (1998) and Astrological Roots: The Hellenistic Tradition (2007).

You and Joseph design your tutorial programs together. Depending on your location, we will meet in person or by phone to assess your previous learning, needs, and interests. This meeting is free of charge and implies no commitment. Then we will divide your program into monthly assignments. Here are some possibilities.

Case study or chart analysis.

3. Short papers on specific topics.

4. Consultations by phone or in person.
