My new book, Astrology and the Lives of People is now out!
Beginning Thursday April 18, Enid Newberg and I will offer “Family Patterns and Chart Interpretation” through Kepler College.
We sit at the center of life itself, connected to others, situations in our lives, and the ongoing flow of history – and each one of us is singular, irreplaceable, “untranslatable.”
Astrology, when used well, wakes us up to meaning and purpose, and helps us solve problems along the way.
People seek help because of a particular problem or crossroad in their lives. They wonder how they got there and what is the trajectory that can take them into a more confident future.
Through astrology, this becomes an opening to a conversation about who you are—your state of being, your potential, your concerns and your overall life pattern—enabling you to discover a wider range of perspectives and more options for growth.
Additionally, particular situations may be addressed by casting a chart timed to the asking of an important question or to choose a time for you to initiate a significant event. The chart of a personal event often illuminates that event’s meaning and resolution.
Many students of astrology feel a calling to serve others as a counselor or healer as an astrologer. Indeed, astrology provides a vantage point to help people find guidance, more deeply understand their lives, and pursue new options for themselves.
My approach is to train astrological students in having a good understanding and facility identifying and using astrological indicators, but also how be an appropriate and beneficial counselor.

“Is astrology a science? An art? A language? A belief system? A religion? A philosophy? A kind of proto-psychology? A branch of metaphysics? A spiritual practice? A socio-cultural phenomenon? Is it some combination of these possibilities? Or is it something else entirely?”
"In these times when human nature seems darker and weaker than we know it to be, we should remind ourselves of qualities we admire and those people who exemplify them. It seems timely that my profiles now focus on individuals who hold us to a higher standard of decency, who may inspire us."
I wonder whether our current use of the Moon’s nodes don’t have enough of the Moon’s symbolism in it. Also, how might the Lunar Nodes affect the seven visible planets when one or more are conjunct the North or South Node or in square to them?
These profiles range from the political to literary to rock idols of Joseph’s youth. Some profiles reflect the issues and concerns of the time in which they were written, others illustrate some admired people, a few about those who are more notorious. (You the reader may decide which is which.)
